Obituary of ERNEST STANLEY WALKER
ERNEST STANLEY WALKER
May 20, 1930 – April 3, 2021
Sadly, we announce the passing of Ernest Stanley Walker at the age of 90. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Marilyn, son Ernie (Elizabeth), granddaughter Lindsey (Cody), grandson Gregory (Aynsley), great-grandson Rhett, very dear companion Nora, his brothers; Larry, Ron (Verna), Arnold (Shelley), sister Merlene and many nieces and nephews.
Ernie was pre-deceased by his loving wife Gwen, son-in-law Ron, parents Walter and Marjorie, brother Leonard, sister Verna and twin sister Kay.
Ernie enjoyed his job as a power engineer working for the City of Winnipeg at the steam plant and at Shell Oil Refinery before retiring.
Our dad was a kind and thoughtful man with a great sense of humour. When he smiled at you it definitely brightened up your day. Over the years he had many hobbies, enjoying wood working, jewelry making and rock hounding to name a few. His family and friends have many of his creations to enjoy and remember him by. He was an avid walker and made many treks with his brother Ron exploring the countryside.
We would like to thank the N2 East staff at the Concordia Hospital for their kindness and support during this time. We also want to thank the staff at River Ridge II for making dad’s stay there very happy. He very much enjoyed his time there.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
A private memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. Live streaming of the service will be available at www.cropo.com.
