Erna Numrich May 1st 2021

Erna Numrich was born in Bixten, Latvia on April 13, 1935 into the family of Rudolf and Augusta Betcher. She passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Erna is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ernst; her children, Norm (Heather), Andy (Lori); grandchildren, Amanda (Eric), Shawn (Mikaela), William, David; and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Hannah. Her sisters, Herta, Benita, (Sam), Erika (Winfred), Inge (Helmut); and brothers, Scotty and Ron.
Erna was predeceased by her parents, Augusta & Rudolph; her brother, Bruno; brother-in-law, Otto; and sister-in-law, Donna.
Erna lived a happy life in Bixten until the political landscape changed with the oncoming war. Desperately wanting to protect their young family from the war, the Betcher family escaped Europe and sailed to Canada where they eventually settled in Lethbridge, Alberta, where they were surrounded by a large Christian community.
Erna eventually moved to Calgary, Alberta where she met her future husband Ernst Numrich at the “First Church on Centre Street”. They went on to marry on July 5, 1958 and were looking forward to celebrating 63 happy years of marriage in July 2021.
Mom was an amazing woman who loved Dad, her sons, their families and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was completely devoted to serving in the church, reading scripture, and continually praying for her family. She had a very deep love for the Lord.
The Lord granted Mom a long life where she thrived with her family and friends until the Lord called her home, the place where she always longed to be. She has fought the good fight, she has finished her race, she has kept the faith.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Erna Numrich May 1st 2021..
