Obituary
TRYNKS, Erma
Erma was born in New Westminster, BC, on Sept 8, 1936. She was raised in Langley, BC, by her parents alongside her younger brother Gary. She is predeceased by her husband Stanley.
Erma is survived by her son, Steven, daughters, Tina (Dan) and Theresa, grandchildren, Denise (Toby), Jamie (Kevin) and Christopher (Stacy), great grandchildren Theodore, Oskar and Alexander and beloved brother, Gary (Mary) and nieces and extended family.
Stanley and Erma married in Vancouver in 1960. They settled in Ladysmith, where they raised their three children, Steven, Tina and Theresa. Erma passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on October 20, 2021.
Erma was the most devoted, loving and caring stay-at-home mom to her children. Once they had grown, Erma worked as the Salad Lady at Brownie’s Chicken in Ladysmith for many years. She forged many long lasting friendships with her colleagues and customers.
Erma enjoyed many Saturday nights at dances with Stanley and their numerous friends. She was a meticulous seamstress, sewing dresses and pant suits for her daughters and knitted sweaters for her son. She loved and cared for many dogs throughout her life, always happily accepting a dog sitting invitation or short visit from a furry friend.
No family member could get by her without a big loving hug and kiss. We will miss those greetings the most. We are grateful for the time we had with her.
In 1994, Erma received Jesus into her life, and she made a rededication of her faith three years ago. A service in honour of Erma will be held at the Bethel Church, 1149 Fourth Avenue in Ladysmith on Saturday Oct. 30 at 1:00 pm. The service will be followed by internment and reception.
