Obituary
Emmy Janzen (nee Gretschmann)
March 5, 1933 – September 20, 2021
It is with sadness and much love that we share the peaceful passing of our Mom, Emmy.
Though we weren’t ready to let her go we rejoice that she had a strong faith in the Lord and is now in heaven reunited with many family and friends.
She was a caring, loving and generous person who had a zest for life and a great sense of humour.
Emmy was born in the Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1953. She married our Dad, Peter in Winnipeg. They later moved to B.C. where the last of their 5 children was born.
They chose to build and run their own business named Twin Motel which they named after their twins.
Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Peter. Later she married her second husband Garvin Michell (predeceased). She was also predeceased by 2 siblings, 2 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She is survived by 3 siblings as well as her 5 children: Ruth, Erv (Brenda), Henry (Lorna), Dorothy (Russell) Crockett, and Esther (John); 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in September 2021 at the Providence Funeral Homes.
On behalf of Emmy’s family we thank you for your prayers, kindness and love during this difficult time.
