Obituary of Emma Helen Teske
It is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye to our Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother. Emma passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the age 106. She was predeceased by her husband Ernie in 1991; and her little great-granddaughter Krista Walterson. She was also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marie Oschefski; siblings Phil Oschefski, Josephine Farrell, Grace Cassidy, Nick Oschefski and Arnold Oschefski; sisters-in-law Evelyn Ulmer and Dorothy Renwick; and brother-in-law Albert Teske.
Emma was born in Southey, SK on April 5, 1915. Her growing-up years took her to Markinch, Lang, Vancouver and Chilliwack. On January 2, 1937 she married Ernie Teske and came back to Saskatchewan to become a rancher’s wife on the PFRA Brokenshell Pasture #1 south of Yellow Grass and then moved south of Lang to become a farmer’s wife. She was very active in her Church and played the organ for many years.
She is survived by her daughter Joan (Ron) Meyer of Regina; son David (Sheila) Teske of Medicine Hat; grandchildren Sandra (Laurie) Walterson, Stephen (Hannah) Meyer, Michael Teske and Rebecca Teske; great-grandchildren Alyssa Crompton (Nick), Aric Walterson, Anthony Meyer, Daniel Meyer, Aaron Meyer and her new great-great-granddaughter Everly Crompton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in memory of Emma to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
