À la mémoire de
Emma Montesa Silot
21 février 1939 –
7 décembre 2021
Passed away peacefully, surrounded and comforted by her loving family on December 7, 2021, at the age of 82. Emma is survived by Pedro, her devoted husband of 58 years, and her five adoring children, Miriam (Odd), Marichu (Paul), Mignonette (Jorge), Marites, and Glenn (Kim). She was also a caring and much-loved grandmother to Ellis, Mirabelle, Monet, Katarina, and Slate. Emma was the daughter of the late Fructuoso and Rizalina Montesa, beloved sister to Crescenciano, Michael, Guido, Belen, Fructuoso, Jose Pro, Isabel, Estela, Manuel, and loved by her large extended family.
Born in Bais City, Philippines in 1939, Emma immigrated to Canada in 1974. In the Philippines she was an accomplished teacher and after immigrating to Canada, she had a fulfilling career working in the insurance industry. Emma had a fondness for the simple pleasures of travelling, cooking, eating and being a great mother. She looked forward to her manicures and pedicures and was always dressed to the nines. Although, she was happiest when just hanging out and enjoying life with her family.
With a polite demeanor, Emma’s vibrant personality would bloom if she knew you. She had a quiet confidence in herself and encouraged her children to aspire to be good and respectful people. She embodied the spirit of “When everything seems to be going wrong, you must straighten your tiara and keep your head held high.” She touched so many lives in so many ways with her gentle, kind and caring heart. So many memories and laughs, she will be deeply missed.
