Emma Mazerolle
1923-2021
RICHIBUCTO, NB – Emma Mazerolle, 97, of Richibucto, passed
away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, St-Anne-de-Kent on
Friday, October 22, 2021. Born in Richibouctou-Village, she
was the daughter of the late Arthur Richard and the late Anna
(Babineau) Richard.
Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She was a wise and graceful lady in every way.
Although she was visually impaired, she worked side by side at
Charlie’s takeout with her loving husband Charlie until
their retirement. She will be missed by all who knew
her.
Emma will be sadly missed by her six children, Raymond (Linda
Boudreau) St. Charles, Andrea (Gérard Martin) Richibucto,
Charles (Élianne) Richibucto, Benoît (Linda) St.
Antoine, Robert (Merya) Scoudouc and Jean-Guy (Susanne) Shediac, as
well as her twelve grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren and three
step-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three sisters, Doris Melanson (late
Laurie) Moncton, Rose Marie Strachan (Bob) Moncton, Alberte Richard
(Tom McLaughlin) Oromocto; three brothers, Benoit (late Pat) Brampton
ON, Alfred (Rita) Moncton and Paul-Émile (Louise) Moncton;
sisters-in-law Florence (late Noé), Laura Richard (Odilon),
both of Richibouctou-Village and brother-in-law Gerry Bourgeois (late
Jacqueline) Orillia ON. She was also close to her sisters-in-law Viola
Daigle (Yvon) Moncton, Sr. Christina Mazerolle of Moncton and
brother-in-law Willie Roop of St. Ignace.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Charlie, her
sisters, Juliette, Jacqueline, Sylvie and brothers Yvon,
Noé, Odilon and Laurent.
The family would like give their heartfelt thanks to the
staff at the Foyer du Havre in Richibucto for their love and support
and the great care they provided mom for the past seven years. We
would also like to thank the staff at the Stella Maris de Kent
hospital who went above and beyond to ensure mom’s
comfort.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
in Richibucto on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 am until departure for
the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday,
October 27, 2021 at 1:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic
Church in Richibucto. In lieu of flowers, the family would
appreciate donations to the Canadian National Institute for the
Blind.
Following provincial COVID-19 regulations, visitors will be
required to provide proof of double COVID-19 vaccination and
government issued ID at the funeral home, masks are mandatory and we
ask that social distancing is respected.
