It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Emily Josephine Stewart on Friday October 29, 2021 in the Shiretown Nursing Home at the age of 95 with family by her side. Born in Antigonish on December 5, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Walter Partridge and Edith (Polson). In 1945 she married Irving and together they raised their family in Pictou. She is survived by her children, Irwin (Susan), Anne (Sid), Emma, Johnny (Sharon), Joey (Mary); daughter-in-law, Chrissie; grandchildren, Krystle (Curtis), Scott (Julie), Robbie (Barb), Shelly (Bobby), Randy, Mike (Bev), Ian, Donna (Neil), Mark (Debbie), Jason (Pa), John (Candace), Bradley, Shaun (Janelle), Brandon (Jordan), Nicholas (Haley); great-grandchildren, Christian, Robert, Katie, Justin, Amber, Trevor, Ben, Carman, Jordy, Charlie, Nate, Dillion, Liam, Aidan; great-great-grandchildren, Hayden and David. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Irving; sons, Jimmy, Tommy; son-in-law, Philip Brown; grandson, Justin; sisters and a brother. Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no funeral. A family service will be held at Waterside Cemetery with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Shiretown Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave Jo. Donations in her memory may be made to Waterside Cemetery.
