Emily passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021.
Predeceased by her mother Marie Michalski in 2005, her brother Sam Michalski in 2000, and her former husband Arnold Robert Danielson in 1984.
Loved and missed by daughter Diane Cyr (Bill), daughter Carol Norberg (Eric), grandchildren Sonia Norberg (Kevin Monkhouse), Jessica Legree (Patrick), Scott Norberg (Cathy), Johnny Norberg, Jennifer Pasini (Federico), Danielle Cyr, Kaitlin Wu (Benson), great-grandchildren Emily-Rose, Isabella, Joseph, Maxwell, Taylor and Ilaria.
Emily was married to Arnold in Revelstoke, B.C. in 1952. They moved to Vancouver, B.C. in 1954. They had 2 daughters Diane and Carol. They enjoyed spending time with their children taking trips to the Okanagan to enjoy swimming, the outdoors and the fruit they would bring home. There were also several early morning fishing trips and one big trip to Disneyland. They also enjoyed playing Canasta.
Emily loved being a mother and provided well for her children. She remained in the family home in Vancouver for 58 years.
Emily worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for Mohawk Oil Co. Ltd. for over 25 years. They were good to her and provided her with her first opportunity to travel to Hawaii in 1972. In addition the company had a vacation condominium in Palm Springs California which they made available to employees. She loved these opportunities and made several more vacation trips to Hawaii and Palm Springs with her family.
Emily retired at the age of 55 and spent a lot of time reading books. In addition she loved hosting dinners and barbeques at her home in Vancouver with her family. She was a great cook and her recipes continue to be used by many family members.
Emily enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers in her backyard. She also had creative talents for flower arranging and cake decorating. She made several cakes for birthdays and other special occasions.
Emily had a great love for animals. She used to feed the wild birds in her backyard in the winter. Her great love was her precious toy poodle “Cuddles”. She had her for many years along with a shepherd/Samoyed cross “London”. Her last toy poodle was “Misty” who she dearly loved as well.
Emily was a very kind, generous and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on May 1, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby.
