Obituary of Elmer Kenneth Wagner
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Elmer Kenneth Wagner announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Friday, September 3, 2021 from a long battle with Polio. Elmer leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Evelyn Wagner and their children: Shelley (Blaine) Dyck and Terry Wagner as well as grandchildren: Dean, Wesley, Cody, Jenna (Jordan), Angela, Colton and great-granddaughter Rylan; his younger brother Bernie (Donna) Wagner; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elmer was born in Earl Grey to Karl and Eva Wagner on August 14, 1933. He married Evelyn Bowditch on June 30, 1962 in Swift Current. They moved many times before finally settling down in Regina. Elmer learnt at a young age to play a variety of musical instruments. He played in the marching band and had a passion for traditional Country Music. He had to learn to walk again, eventually becoming an operator of heavy-duty equipment and a truck driver for many years. His stubborn nature and strong work ethic helped him overcome many obstacles. The words “you can’t” was not an option for him. The people who new Elmer would say he was friendly and always had a story to share.
