“Kathy” or “Duffy”
December 12, 1951 – September 22, 2021
Ellen went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the age of 69.
Ellen or Kathy as she was known as a child was born in Cleveland Ohio to John and Mary Creagh. As a child her favorite place was her grandparents farm where she developed a wonderful love for all animals, especially cats. After graduating high school she joined the hippie movement in the United States and traveled all over the country. Her free spirit brought her to find refuge in Canada where she found life long friends that became her family. They knew of her as “Duffy”, originally her hippie name was Dusty but it was mispronounced as Duffy by a stranger and the name stuck for life. Duffy always wanted to be a mom and have a large family. She went on to have 7 children and 1 child of choice, also a few others she lovingly referred to as her own. Duffy was known as the “cool mom” who always played the music really loud. Duffy also had 21 grandchildren and plenty of others who referred to her as “grandma Duffy” and just recently 2 great grandchildren were added to her big family. Duffy was a rebel who lived life on her own terms, and what a crazy beautiful life it was!

A Memorial Service for Ellen will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday November 19 at 2:00pm. Please note: Proof of vaccination, negative COVID test result within the previous 72 hours or a medical exemption letter are required to attend.
