Obituary of Elizabeth Pennell
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth (Dossie) Pennell announce her passing on Friday, August 20, 2021 at home, Lark Harbour, at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn, with fond and loving memories, daughters; Georgina, Hazel (George) and Patsy; son Rodney (Linda); grandchildren: Robbie (Angie), Susan (Mike), Philip, Pierre (Ann), Edwin (Shalenie), Patrick, Russell, Vicki (Gerard), Alison (Dave), Chris (Valerie), Stephen (Jackie), Cody (Stephanie), and Joshua (Katie); 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Paul; brother-in-law Freeman (Beatrice); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Ralph Pennell, her infant son Wayne, son-in-law Wallace Park, son-in-law Frank Wheeler, granddaughter Trina Wheeler, grandson Alex McCarthy, parents Stephen and Georgina Sheppard, parents-in-law George and Annie Julia Pennell, sisters Sylvia (Raymond) and Marie (Maxwell), and brother Ronald (Geraldine); brothers-in-law Wilfred (Olive), Roland (Rebecca), Jack (Ruby) and Foster (Barbara), sisters-in-law Dorothy (Reginald), Hazel and Pauline.
A sincere thank you to special caregivers Gloria Childs, Carolyn Gilbert, registered nurse Jody Penny, Dr. Philip Morris, and Reverend Effie Organ.
Friends may visit St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour on Monday, August 23rd, 2:00pm – 4:00 pm, and 7:00pm – 9:00pm, from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 24th, 2:00 pm, with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery. As expression of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
