Obituary of Elizabeth MacLeod, New Waterford
It is with deep sadness we, the family, announce the passing of our mom, Betty. She passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021 at New Waterford Hospital after a short battle with Leukemia.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Ernest ‘Hutchie’ and Lucy (Romard) Hutchinson.
Betty was a member of Mount Carmel Parish, New Waterford. She spent time volunteering for a number of organizations, was an avid reader and loved playing bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her three sons, Trevor (Darlene), Curtis (Tanya) and Michael (Marilyn); brother, Johnny (Rose); sisters, Darlene (Tommy), Paula and missed sister, Debbie Hutchinson; grandchildren, Clara (Josh), Eva and Graham and his siblings, Bianca and Nolan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by brother, Stephen Hutchinson and sister, Linda Roberts.
Betty’s family and friends will miss her terribly.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 15 from 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
