Elizabeth’s Obituary
TRENTON – Elizabeth Louise “Liz” MacDonald, 84, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 29, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Broadway, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Fraser and Mary Elizabeth (Sutherland) Chisholm. Liz was a graduate of the Aberdeen School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at the Aberdeen Hospital until retirement in 1995. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, Westville. Liz was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. For Liz, “Life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are her husband, Alex “Sandy” MacDonald; daughter, Karen Guthro, Trenton; sons, Kevin (Linda), Trenton; Michael (Bonnie), New Glasgow; Darrell, Trenton; step-daughters, Cathy Fraser, Simcoe, Ont.; Colleen, New Glasgow; Cheryl (Cmd. Robert) Thompson, Virginia; step-sons, Clarence (Darlene), Geary, N.B.; Murray (Tracey), Little Harbour; sister, Joan Mason, Waterville; brother, Alden “Aldie” (Irene), New Glasgow; many grandchildren, Jake and Janae Guthro, Haley and Luke MacDonald; step-grandchildren, Lindsey and Landon MacDonald; eight great-grandchildren; a great, great-grandchild; nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Alexander; granddaughter, Shona; sister, Janet Chisholm; brother, Clarence; sister-in-law, Mary Ann; brother-in-law, Hughie.
A private service will be held in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Pastor Ryan King officiating. Interment will be in French River Cemetery.
