Loiselle, Elizabeth (née Ropert)
It is with saddened hearts that the family of our beautiful Elizabeth “Betty ”Johanne Loiselle (née Ropert) of Edmonton, Alberta, announce her passing on Nov. 28, 2021 at the age of 82 years.
Betty will be lovingly remembered for her strong Catholic faith, devotion as a wife, self-giving motherly love, service to her faith community, gentleness, and kindness to so many. She was raised in Edmonton and graduated valedictorian from Edmonton General Hospital nursing program in 1960. She was then fulfilled through her beautiful marriage to Jules in 1962 and joyfully raising their children. She loved singing, listening to music, gardening, and making a home for her family.
Betty will be dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, Jules; children, Nicole, Annette, Rhéa, Agnès, Colin, Joël, Christine, Marc, and Mathieu; their spouses; 28 grandchildren; older brother, Joseph (Mary Lou) Ropert. She is predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Dorothy Ropert; infant son, Rémi, and daughter, Rachel (Peter).
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 7 pm Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB with visitation at 6:30 pm. The Restriction Exemption Program will be in place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at St. Charles Catholic Parish, 17511 – 112 Street, Edmonton, AB. Masks and social distancing will be required. Provincial attendance capacity restrictions will be in effect. Both the Funeral Liturgy and Memorial Mass will be live streamed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB Foundation (www.cnib.ca), Catholic Social Services (www.cssalberta.ca), or a charity of one’s choice.
