Elizabeth Liz Martin 1933 2021

It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of M Elizabeth “Liz”
Martin, age 88, of Springhill. Liz passed
away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Friday,
September 24, 2021.
Born in Windham Hill, NS, she was a
daughter of the late Murray and Edith (Purdy) Herrett.
Liz was a generous person who was loved
by many. If you went to her home, you either had something
to eat or left with something in your hands.
She will be dearly missed by her sons,
Ronald (Shirley), Moncton, NB, Donald (Shirley), Springhill;
daughters, Janet (Bill) Fraser, Antigonish, Darlene Hunter of
Springhill; son in law Tim Martin, Amherst; sisters, Sheila Mattinson,
BC, Barbara (Ralph) Stevens, Wyvern, Cordelia Holden, Amherst;
brothers, O’Dare, BC, Clyde, BC, Ronnie (Femmie), Windham, Billy
(Marion), BC, and Philip, Windham; 14 grandchildren; numerous great
and great great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Ralph
J. Martin; companion Herb Pepperdine; daughters Gloria Martin and
Brenda Lockhart; son in law Norman Hunter; grandson Tommy; sisters
Ruby Ripley and Rhea Farrell; brothers Harry and
Winston.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). In keeping
with Liz’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside
service will take place in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill at a
later date.
