Elfia (Effie) Strilec
Peacefully, surrounded with love, Effie Strilec, beloved wife of the late Joseph, passed away on November 19th, 2021 at the age of 93 years.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph, parents George and Kay Gordichuk, sister Agnes Marriott, sisters and brothers-in-law; Helen and Jerry Spalding, Anne and Ed Knott, sister-in-law Christa Gordichuk, brothers-in-law; Leonard, Walter and Paul Strilec.
Effie is survived by son Randall (Brenda), grandson Joshua (Amanda), granddaughter Vanessa (Tim), great-grandchildren; Sierrah, Falynne and Nykai. Sisters; Mary Rzepa, Margaret (Garry) Clark and brother George, sisters-in-law; Helen and Jean, along with many nieces and nephews.
Effie was the first employee hired at the Lions Prairie Manot in 1971 as business manager until her retirement in 1992.
She was an avid gardener and won several awards for her yard on LaVerendrye Crescent and on the rural property where she and Joe lived. After Joe’s passing she sold her rural property and moved into a condo on Kelly K St. where she resided until failing health made it necessary for her to take up residence at the Lions Prairie Manor in February 2020.
Effie was a life long member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Assumption.
At Effie’s request there will be no formal funeral.
