Elaine Marguerite MacEachern RN 2021

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Elaine Marguerite (MacGillivary) MacEachern, RN on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, David Alexander MacEachern; her parents, Stanley Michael MacGillivary and Marguerite MacGillivary Buffett; her sister, Valerie Anne MacIssac; her in-laws, Donald and Charlotte MacEachern; and uncle, Edward MacGillivary, a father figure in her life.
Upon graduating from Holy Angels High School, Elaine immediately entered St. Martha’s School of Nursing where she met and maintained many lifelong friendships, most notably her friends, Anne Marie MacLean Campbell (deceased) and Betty Roach Bourgoyne.
As a dedicated nurse at St. Rita Hospital, Elaine is remembered as an attentive, sensitive, compassionate professional. Elaine exemplified these qualities throughout her life. “Once a nurse, always a nurse.”
Elaine is survived by her loving and devoted son, Paul; sisters, Joan (George deceased) Campbell and Delores (Gary) Horne; brothers, Gordon (Suzanne) MacGillivary and Wayne (Dolores) MacGillivary; sister-in-law, Carol MacEachern; brother-in-law, Allan MacIssac; and cousin, Sheila Beaton. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thank you to Dr. John Rogers, the VON and Cape Breton Homecare for their endless compassion and professionalism.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorials in memory of Elaine may be made to a charity of your choice.
