Edwin Ladouceur
1932-2021
Following a long illness, Joseph Edwin Ladouceur of Perth-Andover, NB,
passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on December
25, 2021.
Edwin was born on January 8, 1932. He was the son of the late Louis
and Amelia (Dextra) Ladouceur. Edwin leave behind his loving wife of
67 years, Mary Jean Ladouceur (Lalonde); his children, Judy Smy of
Ottawa, ON, John Ladouceur (Bev) of Prince Albert, SK, Cathy London
(Gerald) of Perth-Andover, NB; his grandchildren, Sarah Smy (Peter) of
Alymer, QC, John Ladouceur Jr. (Tammy) of Prince Albert, SK, Amy Chin
(Sheldon) of Saskatoon, SK, Jacob Sullivan (Hannah) Fredericton, NB,
Katlyn Sullivan (Justin) of Grand Falls, NB; great grandchildren,
Baeddan, Adrian, Keiran, Tristan, Aurora, and Everlee; his sisters,
Claudette Paiment of Rochester, NY, Lynn Costanza of Rochester, NY,
Beth Mahoney of Lancaster, ON, Denise Klem of Port St. Lucie, FL; his
brothers, Eugene Ladouceur (Denise) and Michael Ladouceur (Linda),
both of Cornwall ON.
Edwin is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Theresa and Clarice;
and his brother, Pierro.
Edwin was born and raised on Cornwall, ON. He was from a family of
twelve. He worked for Domtar Papers Ltd. for 39 years. He was a loyal
and faithful husband and an amazing father and grandfather. Edwin was
known as a kind and gentle man, often described as “the nicest
man I ever met”.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served with the Black
Watch Regiment for three years. He served overseas in Germany. Edwin
retired in 1990 and moved with his wife to Red Rapids, NB, in 1991. He
enjoyed fishing on the St. Lawrence River, visiting with family near
and far, the cottage in Summerstown, ON, where many good times were
spent with family. Edwin loved golfing, hunting, and playing cards. He
will be missed and remain in the hearts of his family forever.
Respecting Edwin’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service held. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at a
later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Sounther Victoria Cancer
Assistance Fund or the Making a Difference Food Bank would be
appreciated by the family.
