Edward Ladouceur
” Entered into rest Edward Ladouceur December 18th 2021 at Brockville General Hospital. Eddie was born August 11, 1949 in the Ottawa Valley and spent much of his childhood at the Rideau Regional. At age 23 he came to live and work on the farm of Jack and Esther Perkins just south of Athens. He worked hard on the farm until 2003 when Jack passed and Eddie spent the remaining years of his life in retirement at Charleston Lake and in Athens. He is a long time member of the Perkins family and is survived by Lynne Perkins, Marie Dolan (Rick), Brian Perkins (Wendy), and Kevin Perkins (Marlene). He is especially missed by their children and grandchildren who thought of Eddie as their uncle, as well as friends Ritchie and Dick. He loved fishing, euchre, Texas Hold’em, movies and a game of pool. Predeceased by Burton Perkins, Jack and Esther Perkins and John Perkins.
An incredible thank you from our family to the entire community of Athens for their inclusiveness. There was always someone who gave Eddie a ride, made him feel welcome at their business and treated him kindly, like he belonged.
Thank you to Palliative Care, Brockville General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston General Hospital and the staff at Athens Medical for their extra support.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or the Food Bank would be appreciated. A memorial and internment will take place in the spring (date TBD) where we can all take time and share a story or memory of our friend.”
