Obituary of Ed Stanat
Stanat, Edward of Metcalfe Gardens, St. Thomas passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 1, 2021 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Edie (Krohm) Stanat(1975). Dear father of Dita Cornelissen(Rick) of Aylmer and Tina Garton(Jay) of Aylmer. Loving grandfather of Stefan, Kira and Kendra. Brother of Edith Taylor(Jim) and Werner Stanat(Debbie). Brother-in-law of Elli Munich(late Gerry), Helmuth Krohm(Anne) and Ed Krohm(Rose). Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born on February 16, 1936, son of the late Max and Erna (Wellert) Stanat. Also predeceased by father-in-law Edward Krohm, mother-in-law Emma Krohm and sister-in-law Wanda Epp. Ed grew tobacco on Brook Line for many years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Malahide Fire Department. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, friends and family who wish to attend the visitation at H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday March 3 in the evening can call 519-773-8400 to make an appointment. A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. A livestream of the service will be available for anyone who wishes to attend remotely.
