Obituary of Edith Wilhelmina Reichert
Edith was called to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus, on Thursday, February 18, 2021, in her 92nd year. Edith was born on July 15, 1929 in Waterloo to parents Rosalie (nee Stettner) and Adam Phillips.
She is survived and sadly missed by her loving husband, Gerald “Bud” Brautigam, who she married on July 18, 2003. Edith is dearly remembered by her four children, Karen Wiles and her husband Bill, Terry Reichert and his wife Claire, Laurie Reichert-Wu and her husband Lawrence and Sandra Matwey. Proud and loving grandmother of Matthew, Sarah, Vanessa, Sean, Jeremy, Jaron, Alison and Timothy, Amber-Rae and Shae-Lynn and great-grandmother of Tiffany, Leah, Justin, Esther, Leo, Iver, and Theodore. Edith is also remembered by Bud’s family.
Edith was predeceased in 2001 by her husband of 51 years, Robert J. Reichert, who she married on July 8, 1950 at the original location of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo by Rev. Arnold Conrad. She was also predeceased by her sisters Bernice Crossley, Norma Phillips, and her brother Harry Phillips and his wife Vivian.
Edith’s family will receive relatives and friends at Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 137 Queen St. S., Kitchener on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 12 noon – 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Keller officiating. To attend the visitation and/or funeral service, please RSVP to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home by calling 519-745-8445. Interment at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo will immediately follow the funeral service.
