CARTER, Edith (nee Braun)
Of Buckhorn, Ontario passed away peacefully Saturday evening, October 23, 2021 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 91.
She was born on December 17, 1929 and was raised in Oshawa, Ontario, later moving to Toronto, Peterborough, and then Buckhorn.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, David Carter and siblings Herb, George, Kay and Muriel. She will be dearly missed by her sons Steve (Diana) and Rob (Donna), and daughter Laurie (Mike). She was adored by her 5 grandchildren Lisa, Jeffery, Kevin, Jennifer, and Cassandra as well as her seven great grandchildren.
Edith was known for her baking, and also loved horseback riding, gardening, reading, and knitting. She enjoyed socializing with patrons of her business at Camp Ashtabula in Buckhorn, with friends in her park in Hudson, Florida where she spent many winters, and later at the Peterborough Retirement Residence on Water Street.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Peterborough Retirement Residence as well as the PRHC.
At Edith’s request, no funeral will be held.
