IT is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of
Edith Caroline (Logan) Mabie on May 26th, 2021
at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on October
25th, 1933 on a snowy night in Green Hill NB.
She was a daughter of the late Herbert “Eugene” and Jennie
(Hossack) Logan.
Edith was a registered nurse, she trained at the Victoria
Public Hospital where she graduated from in 1956. She was
the senior clinical nurse of the burn program at the Dr. Everett
Chalmers Hospital for 17 years, before she retired in 1996.
She loved a good game of cards and would challenge anyone to a
cribbage or scrabble game, her laugh was contagious and kept everyone
hanging on to their ribs. She was a people person and was
able to strike up a conversation with anyone and within a few minutes
would know your entire family.
Edith will be deeply missed by her children; Lynn Mabie
Patterson (John) of Halifax, Sandra Mabie of Fredericton, and Rod
Mabie of Canmore AB. A brother Don Logan (Joyce) of Hampton, NB,
nieces and nephew, Joanne, Jennifer, Kyle, Leanne and Kimberly,
several great-nieces, and nephews, as well as a special nephew Tony
Brown(Doris) and two special friends that were
family, Chris Justason (Katie) of Pembrook ON and Erica (David) Kape
and family of Fredericton NB.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Mabie, and a
brother Budd Logan.
There will be no visitation or service at this
time. A celebration of life will be held once restrictions
are loosened. Interment to take place in the Fredericton
Rural Cemetery.
A very special thank you to the Drs. and nurses at the DECH
palliative care and all the other floors she was on, for all their
care and compassion shown to our mother during her time
there.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS
Society.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Edith Caroline Mabie 19332021..
