E. Owen McGuire
1930-2021
With deep sadness the family of E. Owen McGuire announces his
passing on October 28, 2021 at his home on Howland Ridge. Surrounded
by his family, he passed peacefully from the same house in which he
was born on August 4, 1930.
Owen was the son of the late Charles and Georgie (Greenlaw)
McGuire. He is survived by his five children, Charles (Jan), John
(Ruth), Janice (Doug), Dan (Rachel), Sandra (Greg); his sister Adra
Trail; his eleven grandchildren, Mark, Shannon (David), Michael
(Crystal), Sean, George, Laura, Laci (Trent), Chris (Kim) Maggie, Alex
and Kalie; great grandchildren include, Matthew, Doug, Gordon, Gwen,
Hayden, Hendrix and Odin; many nieces and nephews.
Owen was predeceased by his wife Muriel (Smith), his infant
son, Robert, an infant brother, Cromwell, and his brother-in-law,
Glendon Trail.
For the past ten years Muriel, then Owen, received excellent
care from Beryl Lenentine. Beryl started as a care giver and friend,
then quickly became a third daughter, and is considered part of the
family. Thanks Beryl.
Owen was a “dad” and “grandfather” to
many he met, and he had numerous friends in the community, especially
Norman and Carol Palmer, Heber and Nancy Lutwick, Ola Blaney (cousin)
and the members of the Bereans Bible Study Group.
Although Owen spent most of his life as a dairy farmer, he
had a passion for his horses and did farrier work for a number of
years. His latest passion was going for rides on his side by side with
friends.
Owen was involved with the Wesleyan Church, the Equestrian
Club and the Holstein Association through the years.
Special thanks to the Extra Mural Services out of Woodstock,
