Dr. Luis Alberto Mercado
Passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 65. Devoted husband of Ileana, loving father of Dany (Vanessa), Stephany and Elias. Dear brother of Jimmy and the late Walter. A private visitation and family service will be held. Dr. Mercado was born in Nicaragua, in the city of Managua on March 9, 1956. He attended the Goyena Institute high school, graduating at the age of 17. He continued his education, studying at the University of Medicine in the city of León, graduating as a general doctor at the age of 22. After completing his studies, he practiced as a general doctor in the small town of Malpaisillo where he met his beloved wife Ileana. In March 1982 when he was 26 years old, they were married. His first son Dany was born in January 1983, when he was 27 years old. During this time he worked towards his specialty and finished his doctorate in Pediatrics at the age of 29. His daughter Stephany was born in October 1988 when he was 32 years old. In November 1988, he traveled to Canada and chose to make this country his official home in order to create a better life for his family. Shortly after this, his second son Elias was born in January 1990 when he was 34 years old. Dr. Mercado dedicated his life to supporting his family with dignity and integrity, serving in the works of the Lord Jesus Christ, (teaching his family and others) by his example, the way to salvation.
The greatest emphasis he made in all his teachings was the importance of the Salvation that Jesus Christ offers to all who believe in Him. Words expressed by him were:
“There is a decision that has an eternal consequence, and it is the choice between salvation or perdition.”
“Salvation and entry to Heaven is only available through Jesus, because Jesus paid the price, He paid it all. It is true that salvation is a gift from God, but it cost the life of Jesus Christ, therefore, He is the only one who can offer it, no one else. ”
“When we truly accept Jesus’ salvation, it makes a difference in the way we think, act, speak, and conduct ourselves.”
“If we say that we have been saved, but nothing has changed in us, something is wrong. The Gospel is a transforming agent in our lives. ”
“There are doctrines that proclaim that salvation is not lost, but the Lord tells us that we must be faithful until death.”
“Our life on earth is temporary, but there is an eternal life that we cannot ignore and sooner or later, we are going to face a situation where we are going to ask ourselves the question: Are we saved? Are we ready to leave this earth? Let’s evaluate ourselves and correct what still needs to be corrected, there is still time. The final objective is to be able to say with complete certainty, as the Apostle Paul said:
“For me to live is Christ and to die is gain” – Philippians 1:21.

Nació en la ciudad de Managua el 9 de Marzo de 1956. Estudió su secundaria en el Instituto Goyena, graduandose a la edad de 17 años. Estudió en la Universidad de medicina en la cuidad de León, graduandose como medico general a la edad de 22 años. A la edad de 26 años contrajo matrimonio. Su primer hijo nació cuando tenia la edad de 27 años. Hizo su especialidad y terminó su doctorado en pediatría la edad de 29 años. Su hija nació cuando tenia la edad de 32 años. En el año 1988 viajó al Canada haciendo de este pais su residencia official. Su segundo hijo nació cuando tenia la edad de 34 años. Dedicó su vida a mantener a su familia con dignidad e integridad, sirviendo en la obra de Jesucristo, enseñandoles con su ejemplo, el camino hacia la salvación.
El mayor enfasis que hizo en todas sus enseñazas fue la importancia de la Salvacion que Jesucristo ofrece a todo aquel que en El cree. Palabras expresadas de su parte fueron:
“Hay una decisión que tiene una consecuencia eterna, y es la escogencia entre la salvación o la perdición.”
“La salvación y entrada al Cielo solamente está disponible a través de Jesús, porque Jesús pagó el precio, El lo pagó todo. Es cierto que la salvación es un regalo de parte de Dios, pero costó la vida de Jesucristo, por lo tanto, El es el único que la puede ofrecer, nadie más.”
“Cuando aceptamos realmente la salvación de Jesús, esto hace una diferencia en la forma en que pensamos, actuamos, hablamos y nos conducimos.”
“Si decimos que hemos sido salvados, pero nada ha cambiado en nosotros, algo está mal. El Evangelio es un agente transformador de nuestras vidas.”
“Hay doctrinas que proclaman que la salvación no se pierde, pero el Señor nos dice que debemos ser fieles hasta la muerte.”
“Nuestra vida en la tierra es temporal, pero hay una vida eterna que no podemos ignorar y tarde o temprano, vamos a enfrentar una situación donde vamos a hacernos la pregunta: ¿Somos salvos? ¿Estamos listos para partir de esta tierra? Evaluémonos y corrijamos lo que aun se necesita corregir, aun hay tiempo. El objetivo final, es poder decir con toda seguridad, a como lo dijo el apóstol San Pablo:”
“Para mí el vivir es Cristo y el morir es ganancia”: Filipenses 1:21.
