Obituary of Dr. Keith Taylor Auchinachie
Dr. Keith Taylor Auchinachie
1946-2021
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Keith Taylor Auchinachie, MBChB MRCGP (UK). He passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. Loving husband of Gwen, beloved father to Joanne, Kim (Stefan), and Lindsay, and proud Grandpa of Lachlan. Dear brother of Isobel (John) Crain, the late Maureen (Mac) MacDonald, Gwen Auchinachie, and Frances (Farquhar) Hamilton. Predeceased by his parents, Edith and Henry Auchinachie. Keith will be fondly remembered by his nephews Mark, Chris, Kevin, Mark, James, Malcolm, his niece Fiona, his patients, and friends. Keith grew up in North East Scotland and earned his medical degree at Aberdeen University. He moved to Brantford in 1974 and served the Brantford community as a general practitioner for 47 years, first on Erie Avenue, followed by Medical Arts on St. Paul Avenue. For Keith, being a doctor was a vocation: he was a dedicated practitioner who loved medicine and loved caring for his patients. Keith was thoughtful, loyal, and a wonderful listener. He loved music, especially jazz, was a voracious reader, enjoyed travelling, and loved spending time with friends and family. He will be deeply missed. A heartfelt thanks to the physicians and nurses who cared for Keith, including Dr. Jerry Hsiao, Dr. Dan Dickson, and Dr. Justin Lee. A private family tribute was held, followed by cremation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road N. Brantford. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or Brantford General Hospital Foundation would be much appreciated.
