WOOD, Douglas Richard
June 15, 1939 – September 23, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, at The Winsor Retirement Residence in Amherstview, on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 82.
Doug, loving husband of 58 years to Marjorie (nee Bruce). Cherished father of Pamela Poole (Mario Mazerolle) and Michael Wood (Lori Kellar) and proud grandfather of Madeleine Poole, Micheline Kent (Kyle), Ella Wood and great grandfather of Maeve Kent. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his brother James Wood (Catheline), sister Carol Sproule (the late Gerald) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Doug was a dedicated teacher for 30 years in the Federal Penitentiary system. He was proud of his part in the rehabilitation of many people.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home and there will be no service at this time. Memorial donations can be made in Doug’s honour to Canadian Cancer Society.
