March 11, 2021 – Airdrie, Alberta
Doug Christman of Airdrie AB, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the age of 56 years.
Doug was born in Edmonton, AB, on August 4, 1964. Doug graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) with a degree in Business Administration. He was an active member of the Woodside Golf Course and volunteered with Youth Crime Unlimited. He was employed as a Charter Professional Accountant.
Doug accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of watching his kids grow and achieve their goals. In particular, he enjoyed watching his son Josh, throughout his high school years, play football, basketball, and volleyball, Doug was his biggest fan. Celebrating Josh’s wins, learning from losses, and being present for his sport and leadership award recognitions. Doug was also proud of his two daughters, Emily and Maria, for their success in their chosen academic studies, and reflecting the value of hard work and independence that was modelled and instilled by him.
Doug loved golfing, travelling, cooking, camping, being outdoors, and laughing with his friends and family. He also enjoyed the history channel and reading sports autobiographies. Doug’s most memorable vacation was the family’s most recent vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2018, where they got to go fishing, swimming, and spend time in the sun. They got to walk the Marina, sharing some drinks, treats, and spending true quality time together. Doug will be remembered for his sense of humour and his love for his family.
Doug is survived by his mother Victoria Christman of Edson, AB, his two daughters, Maria and Emily Christman; and his son Josh Christman. Doug is also survived by his three sisters, Brenda Rupert, Debi Christman, and Kim Krueger; and Cooper, the puggle. A true family man, Doug will be missed as well by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his father George Christman.

Thank you to those who were with Doug in his final moments ensuring he wasn’t alone and did everything they could to make him comfortable.
