Shelton, Leslie Douglas “Doug” – Director of Health Inspection with the HKPR Health Unit – Entered into rest on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Shirley (née Janzen). Loving father of Christine Good of the UK, and Darcy Shelton of Lindsay. Proud grandfather of Marina, Liam, Jesse, and Adam. Doug is survived by his siblings Donald Shelton (Wendy) of Kitchener, Joanne (Pierre Martinelli) of Gatineau, and predeceased by his brother Brian (survived by Deborah) of Kanata. Doug was a champion soft ball coach, a hobby farmer (Camborne), upon moving to Lindsay he was the president of Rotary, a probus member, and he was a chairman of the Police Service Board. He was a blood donor, delivered meals on wheels, and was part of the team who helped clean up the water crisis in Walkerton. He enjoyed sailing, golfing, and traveling, he was a man with many interests. In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service held at this time. If desired, memorial donations to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, a food bank in your community, or a local homeless shelter.
