Mrs. Dorothy Phillips
Dorothy Lillian Phillips (nee Wiebe), fondly known at “Dot” passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2021, at University Hospital in London, Ontario in her 90th year. For 69 years, the beloved wife of the late Ralph Daniel Phillips, dear mother to Deborah Gayle of Chatham, Bradley Michael of Chatham and Shelley Louise of London, Ontario. Cherished grandmother to Angela Phillips of London and Paul Wilson of Lucan, Ontario and great grandmother to Sarah and Daymond Phillips. Predeceased by her sisters Velma Mayers, Gladys Padura, and brother Joseph (Butch) Wiebe. Born in Shell River, Manitoba. After moving to Chatham, she started working at Ontario Steel. This is where she met Ralph. They married in 1952 and this September it would have been 69 years. She devoted herself to her young family. The simple things in life filled Dorothy with happiness, jigsaw puzzles, playing games with family and friends, birthday parties, bowling, shopping, and cooking. A private family service will be held at the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 with Pastor Greg Simpson of St. Andrew’s United Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.
