Dorothy P. Amisson
1930-2021
It is with deep sadness we announce the
peaceful passing of Dorothy Pearl
Amisson, age 91, of Amherst, NS. Dorothy
passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre.
Born in Shinimicas, NS, she was a
daughter of the late Guy and Carrie (Mills) Smith.
Dorothy worked at the Amherst Movie
Theatre, the Dominion Store, and was Credit Manager at Sears
Canada. A woman with a wonderful sense of humor, she had a
great circle of friends that she loved to spend time with.
She enjoyed time at her cottage in Lorneville, NS.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her
daughter Vicki (James) Chapman, Warren, NS; sister Janet Goodwin,
Florida as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband Victor; sister Inez; brothers Edsel, Joseph
and Reginald; brother-in-law Carmen Goodwin.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS
(902-667-8777). A Private Graveside Service for Dorothy will
take place at the Shinimicas Cemetery at a future date.
Donations in memory of Dorothy may be
made to the Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
