Dorothy Ann McCreanor
August 15, 1933 – October 29, 2021
McCreanor, Dorothy Ann, 88, of Lunenburg passed away peacefully on October 28, 2021 at Fishermans Memorial Hospital.
Born in St. John’s NL on August 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Roy Liscombe Clayton-Cousens and the late Anna Jean (Fowler) Cousens.
In her youth she was an avid figure skater and horse lover.
In 1956 she married the love of her life, John, on July 21,1956 in Coconut Grove FL where they lived until 1959 when they moved to Vero Beach to start their family. In 1972 they moved to St.John’s to start their business, and in 1979 moved to Lunenburg, a place she dearly loved.
Although raised Church of England, she loved studying different religions from a early age and found true peace and love when she joined the Faith Baptist Chapel in Lunenburg. Some of her fondest memories were being “Mrs Cubby Bear”and her puppet shows for the children at church.
She was a very kindhearted, selfless person who loved life and those around her. She always had a smile on her face and a loving heart for everyone. She never met a stranger.
Next to her Saviour, family was the most important to her. She adored her husband, her 3 sons, her daughter-in-law and son-in-law who will have loving and fun memories of her for the rest of their lives.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John, her two chosen sons, Jeffrey (Ed Hartling), Halifax;Paul, Toronto, and her “miracle baby” Christopher (Shari, nee Crouse) London ON; and her 2 beloved grandsons, Steven, and Jordan (Jessica Rzasa), of London.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dartmouth Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Faith Baptist Chapel, 11279 Hwy. 3, Centre, NS
