Doris Edwina Vols

Doris Edwina Vols passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Doris was born in Prince Albert, SK. She went to school at King George and PACI. She attended the Baptist Leadership Training School in Calgary and the University of Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music graduating with Full honors. Doris also attended the University of Saskatchewan and received her Bachelor of Education and Music. Doris went on to have a remarkable teaching career working for the P.A. Rural School Division, various reserves in the P.A. area, SIAST, Northland College LA Ronge including Stanley Mission, Beauval, Montreal Lake and Grassroots College. Doris dearly loved the native people and in return was deeply loved and respected by them.
Doris spent endless hours serving her Lord Jesus Christ at East Hill Baptist and First Baptist Churches serving as a Sunday school teacher, elder, president of First Baptist women, and public speaker. Music was a daily part of her life. Doris was an accomplished musician, organist, pianist, and soloist bringing joy to many people by sharing her talents.
Family was high on her priority list with each family member knowing just how deeply loved and cherished they were. Doris looked forward to the times when the family, separated by distance could all get together and enjoy each others companionship.
Doris loved life on the farm where she enjoyed hosting school students and groups as they came to see the variety of animals including, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, ducks, geese, and turkeys. Doris was known for her love of animals.
Doris was pre-deceased by her husband Albert; parents Annie and Edward Wright; brother Freddie Wright and Reginald Wright; and sister Loa Newman.
Doris is survived by her children: Christine, Bruce, Margaret (Sean) and Virginia; grandsons Mason, Brayden and Jonas; great grandchildren Everett and Garrett; and her brother Clifford. She will be deeply missed by her dogs, Willow and Fern.
As per Doris’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
