Doris Jeanne Hardy
1927-2021
Predeceased by her husband Mort (2018) and her sister Bernice Moyer (2020).
Mother to Jim (Marie) of Waterloo, Grandmother to Matthew (Kathryn) of Calgary, Rachael (Jan) Wichanski of Elmira and Michael of Kitchener. Doris took great pleasure in welcoming her first Great grandchild in June, Hannah Wichanski.
Doris loved her flower and vegetable gardens, was a voracious reader and cared for many dogs and cats over the years. Rocky, her Himalayan cat, will miss her companionship.
Thank you to all her friends and caregivers at Chartwell Clair Hills, Waterloo, where she resided for 4 years. Special thanks to all the 6th and 7th floor nursing staff at St Mary’s Hospital.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In memory of Doris, donations may be made to the Long Run Thoroughbred Retirement Society or the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
