Doris Mary (Johnson) Surette “Dodo” of Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., N.S., passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021, at 79. Born on August 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Nelly (Thibodeau) and Ernest Johnson of Brooklyn. Doris worked at the Villa Saint Joseph for 42 years as a personal care worker until her retirement. She enjoyed Jigsaw puzzles, yard work, camping, and daily chats with family and friends. Doris was a kind, giving, welcoming person. She was never negative and always called you by your name. She is survived by her loving sister, Barbara (Leonard) Deveau of Brooklyn, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Walter Surette, and brothers, Sid Johnson and Fred (Marion) Johnson. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. At this time, there will be no service by request. Special thanks to the staff of the 4th floor at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Tri-County V.O.N, palliative Care team, and paramedics. Donations in her memory can be made to the Tri-County V.O.N.
