Doreen Elsie Gress of Walkerton passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 4, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was in her 75th year. Doreen was beloved wife to Doug for 54 years. She was a loving mother to Graham (Karen) of London. Doreen was a proud and caring Gran to Chloe and Rylan. She will be missed by her siblings Jessie (Wayne) Koepke of Newmarket, Bill (Anne) Graham of London, stepsister Sharon Murray of Strathroy, sisters-in-law Sherry Graham of Elmira, Lynette Graham of Exeter, and brother-in-law Harry Leppington of St. Catharines. Aunt Doreen’s “beautiful” singing voice will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Doreen is predeceased by her brothers John and Stan, twin sister Dorothy Leppington, brother-in-law Ron Murray, and parents Stanley and Dorothy (nee Jasper) Graham.
A very heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the kind nurses, care partners and friends for supporting Doreen during her time of illness. A special thank you goes to Dr. Susan Mc Arthur and long-time friends Florence, Karen and Keitha. Thanks to all of her friends and family for the laughs and good times over the years.
Doreen was a devoted nurse for over 40 years. She made sure to inject a dose of humour into her patient’s days, giving them a chuckle to brighten their time in her care.
Friends and relatives are invited for visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Cameron’s in Walkerton prior to a private family memorial service. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring of 2022.
