A resident of Chatham, Donna Loraine Shanks (nee Fenton), passed away at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with family at her side on Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at the age 83
Beloved wife of the late Donald Shanks (1985).
Loving mother to Sidney Shanks (Michelle) of Brisbane, Australia, Tina Cleland (Steven) of Dresden and the late Stacey Shanks.
Grandma to Joseph, Henry, Finley, Oliver and Mathilda Shanks, and McKenzie and Alex Cleland.
Dear sister to Ruth Cooper, Garry Fenton, Keith Fenton and Sandra Benoit-Verkaik.
Predeceased by sisters Marie Bechard and Cheryl Ann Fenton, and brothers Wayne and Bryan Fenton.
The family wish to extend their thanks to Dr. Denys and nurses at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Complex 4th Floor, for their loving care of Donna and to neighbour Steve Campbell, who went above and beyond in helping Donna over the past few years.
Cremation has taken place, with a private family service to be held at a later date.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Donna are asked to consider instead sending flowers to Chatham-Kent Hospital for them to be delivered to other patients. Donna enjoyed receiving flowers during her stay and would like to spread cheer to those who are in the same position she was. Please label them as ATT: Patient Relations when sending.
