Donna M. McShane passed away peacefully with her son and
family by her side at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB
on Saturday morning, November 6, 2021.
She is predeceased by her parents, Geraldine
“Gerry” and Carl McShane, sisters, Linda, Kathy, Anna and
her beloved brother Danny, nephews, Kirk and Adam. She leaves behind
her son, Jeremy (Krista), grandson Griffen, siblings: Mark (Carol),
Jeff, Berna (Mark), Joe (Denise) Timmy (Peter), Kim, Gary (Jane) and
many loved nieces and nephews.
Donna was a quiet soul. She was known as a baby whisperer and
in a big family she would always gravitate towards the children. She
would take time to be present with them, play cards, make crafts, and
just give that one-on-one attention and love. What she loved most was
her grandson Griffen. They shared an extremely special bond. In her
last years she needed much help with her everyday tasks, and without
hesitation he was there for anything she needed. We are pretty sure
she was teaching him to drive next. She was such a proud nana and was
always supportive of everything he was involved in, despite her health
challenges.
She was affectionately known as “Helga” when it
came to family dinners. She would shoo us all out of the kitchen so
she could find solitude among the hustle and bustle while running the
show to feed us. She was always the quiet doer behind the scenes-
planning Easter egg hunts and kids’ activities to bring
family together. She loved music and shared that with her many nieces
and nephews taking them to concerts with her son.
Retiring in 2015, Donna dedicated more then 35 years to the
Charlotte County Hospital and took immense pride in her
work.
Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son
Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB on Friday, November
12, 2021 at 4 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home
on Friday from 3-4 PM.

Please be advised, that due to mandatory
regulations imposed by the New Brunswick government, everyone 12 years
of age and older, must show proof of vaccination or medical exemption
certificate and government issued ID to attend the funeral service or
visitation. Face masks must be worn at all times while in the
building.

Donna will be missed. When your birthdays are through, may
the angels keep singing… they are surely singing, and we know she is
met with many angels on the other side.
