Beloved husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather
The family is sad to announce the passing of Donia at the age of 92, holding the love of his family in his heart. Cherished and devoted husband of Jeannine (nee Crete) for over 71 years. Their journey together was filled with love, friendship, support, and respect for each other, such that it inspired all those around them. Cherished and missed by his children Danny (Patti McAuley), Rita Mathews (Ron), Kathy (Doug Speir) and Louise Gardner (Kevin). Extremely proud and much loved Pepére to 8 grandchildren, Brent (Tammy), John (Faye), Curtis (Crystal), Lee (Lindsay), David (Adi), Katherine (Will), Adam (Amanda), Clint and 11 great-grandchildren, Keegan, Skye, Kaleigh, Alyssa, Abby, Thomas, Logan, Ethan, Tomás, Austin, and Emily. Missed by his brothers Bob and Larry, and sister Mona. Predeceased by his parents Ovila Laplante and Delisca (nee Charlebois), brother Dieu Donné and sisters Gloriana, Réjeanne and Marielle. Proud long-time resident of Nepean, Ontario and most recently a resident of Almonte. Ontario. He was a dedicated employee of CNCP Telecommunications for 40 years. After retiring he enjoyed woodworking, travelling and spending time with his family. Don was a gentle man and will be fondly remembered for his kindness, wonderful sense of humor, his laugh, and smile.
