Don was born on April 25, 1941 to James and Flora Stuckless of Point Leamington. Don married the love of his life, Betty Horwood on June 10, 1966 and they were happily married for 55 years. Don worked in the retail business all his life. He was employed with JM Sharron and Sons for 23 years in the supermarket and eventually as a general manager. Don and Betty also owned several retail businesses over the years including D & B Variety and Seaport Bargain. Don was also an avid photographer and well known videographer and had filmed many weddings and anniversaries over the years. Don and Betty loved to travel and had visited over 20 foreign countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Paris, Morocco and many US States. Don was the first mayor of Point Leamington after forming the town council, fire department and ambulance board. Don was heavily involved in the Liberal Party and even at the age of 16 campaigned for Joseph R. Smallwood by handing out flyers. Don was a wealth of knowledge and spent many years on different government boards and committies, and was the recipient of her Majesties Silver Jubilee, Gold Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee for his many years of service as a volunteer. Don was always eager to chat and always had a story to tell. Don had many friends far and wide and was loved by all who knew him. He attended the Pentecostal Church in Point Leamington and loved the Lord with all his heart. Don is spending Christmas in Heaven this year with family members gone on before. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who loved him very much.
