Barber, Donalda “Donna” Elizabeth – Age 81, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Sydney on February 1, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Dan C. and Elizabeth (MacAulay) MacDonald.
Donna was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, North Sydney and Dalhousie University DPHN. She worked with VON in Kentville, Halifax and at CFB Stadacona. Donna also served as a Public Health Nurse in Annapolis, Cumberland and Colchester Counties.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas; son, Sidney, Strathmore, AB; daughter, Nadine (Ian), Calgary, AB; brother, Gerald, Sydney; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary, Newport Station and brother, Ronald, Sydney.
Special thanks to Dr. Cortney Smith, RN Lisa Weatherbee of the Palliative Care team and the VON support staff, especially Samantha and Jean.
At Donna’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment at a later date in Bible Hill Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
