Obituary
Donald Timothy MacIsaac
Sugar Loaf
Our beloved husband, father and poppy, Donald Timothy MacIsaac, 84, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Buchanan Memorial Hospital, Neil’s Harbor.
Donald “Dush” was born on March 20, 1937, in Aspy Bay, Victoria County. He was the son of the late Alex and Magdlean (MacNeil) MacIsaac. Throughout his life, Dad made a living from the land and the sea. He was a devoted husband, father, poppy and friend to many. Over the years Dad and Mom welcomed family, friends and strangers with open arms and made sure that no one ever left the kitchen table without a cup of tea and a bite to eat. Dad enjoyed the simple pleasures of country living; barn chores, cutting and splitting wood, making hay, sleigh and sulky rides, and tending to his gardens. Dad cherished the time he spent with his dear and loyal friends, whether it be sitting and chatting over a cup of tea, hitching up horses, going on hay runs, playing a game of cards or having a sing song. In the last ten years, each day revolved around his most prized possession, his granddaughter. Their days were spent watching their favorite tv shows, horseback riding lessons, basketball games, beach glass combing, strolls to the shore and evening drives.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Bunny, daughter Heather (Albert), his precious granddaughter Ellie Madeline, who was the apple of his eye, and his beloved Shilo and Precious. He is also survived by his sisters Florence, Tina and Susie.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Margaret, Annie, Jessie and Mary, brothers Edward, John, Jim and Ronald, and two infant brothers. Donald is also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Charlotte Budge.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 11:00 am in St. Margaret’s of Scotland Catholic Church, St. Margaret’s Village. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are to be adhered to.
