With love and appreciation for a life well lived, we wish to
announce the passing of Donald “Donnie” Barnes on October 9,
2021.
Donnie was born in Bass River, N.B. on March 11, 1935 to
Charles and Grace (MacPherson) Barnes. In his early years Donnie drove
transport for Maritime Forwarding, then went on to open his own
trucking company D.J. Barnes Ltd then Armour Transport and was proud
of the many safe-driving awards he earned during that time. Later in
life, he enjoyed assisting “Nanny Fran” with babysitting
Zachary and Margo Dallaire. Donnie also cherished his time at his camp
with his family and really enjoyed the outdoors.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Fran
(Mullin); his sons Danny (Susan), Kevin (Kim), and Gary (Carole); his
daughter Donna LeBlanc (Dan), who wish to express that he will be
truly missed and was such a great Dad! He was grandfather to Jessica,
Emily, Matthew, Nick, and Vanessa; and great-grandfather to Skyler,
Cassidy, Quinn, and Ava.
He is also survived by sisters Jennie, Mary, Joan, Jean; and
brother Lorne (Gail). He was predeceased by brothers David, Harold,
Harry, Carl, Lennie; sisters Edna and Helen; and grandson Justin
LeBlanc.
Honouring Donnie’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or service.

palliative care at The Moncton Hospital for their kindness and all of
the doctors who cared for him during this difficult
time.
