1940-2021
Don Long of Riverview passed away on Monday February 8, 2021
at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Geraldton, ON, he was the son of the
late Alfred W. and Pearl E. Long (Griffin).
Don was a retired, well respected purchaser/buyer
for several large manufacturing companies, he was known for getting
his customers the best possible price on everything from manufacturing
equipment to nuts and bolts. He attended The Moncton Wesleyan
Celebration Center, in his younger years he coached baseball and
hockey, and was a talented fastball pitcher, and in his spare time he
loved to bowl and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
He will be dearly missed by his partner Millie Keeping,
daughters, Tobi Marie Phalen of London, ON, Korri Anne Harrison (Mark)
of Oakville, ON, Amy Long (Bernard) of Riverview; son, Martin Donald
Long of Burlington, ON; sisters, Joan Tilley of Waterloo, ON and Lois
Sargeant of Brampton, ON. and grandchildren Garret, Luke, Tyler,
Gillian, Alistair, Adia, Aria, Owen and Griffin.
Once restrictions ease there will be a time to share and
celebrate his life. Cremation has taken place at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.
Riverview, (869-2007). The interment will take place at a later date
in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Etobicoke, ON. Donations to The Friends
of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
