Don Watch 2021

Donald “Don” Watch, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in his 76th year.
Don was born in Belleville on June 9, 1945 to Emma and Les Watch. At the age of 19, Don joined the Toronto Police Force as a Police Cadet and a year later became a member of the Cobourg Police Service where he served for 30 years. Upon his retirement he relocated to Hanover and went on to start his own successful business O.P.S. Inc., selling Police, Fire, and EMS equipment across Canada. Don was a gifted artist and passed his talents on to his son Andrew and daughter Kathy. He was active in his community both in Cobourg and Hanover, serving as a member of the Masonic Lodge of Hanover, past Vice President of the Hanover Legion and past Rotarian. He was an outgoing guy; he could never sit still and easily made friends wherever he went. A special thanks to the staff of McVeen Lodge for the love, care and support shown to Don over the past 4 years.
Survived by loving wife Jane (nee Patterson) Watch of Hanover. Dear father of Greg Watch of Port Hope, Andrew Watch of Toronto, Katherine Smith of Vancouver B.C., and step children Mike (Lea) Temple of Hagersville, Sara Temple of Guelph and Ian (Lindsay) Temple of Port Colborne. Don will be missed by his grandchildren Cody, Connor and Christopher Smith, Ryan Watch, and Cru and Julian Temple. Fondly remembered by many siblings, step siblings, friends and extended family.
In keeping with his wishes, a Private Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm, at Hanover Cemetery. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
