Don Walker August 28 1924 March 4 2021 (age 96)

Obituary
Walker, Donald (Don) Ivan passed away peacefully on March 4th 2021 at the age of 96 after a long healthy life. His final few weeks were under the dedicated care of the staff of the Napanee Hospital. He spent the last few years at the Riverine Retirement Home. Prior to that, he was a resident of Loyalist in Bath, Ontario with his wife, Freda Walker (nee Bond). Both were born in Ottawa where they started their family. They both enjoyed their golf at the Loyalist Golf and Country Club but Don was the one walking and playing the course as often as he could. His children, Steven, Douglas, Bruce, David and Deborah all spent many hours enjoying golfing with their dad. Even some of the grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Natalie, Rebecca, Robin, Jessie, Jamie, Sarah and Steven were able to challenge him on a few holes. The great grand-children, Alex, Jake, Ben, Brydon, Cole, Sierra, Madison, Logan, Laila, Emerson and Rhys would have enjoyed playing golf with him. Don regularly attended Canada and Remembrance Day services as a proud WWII veteran, having served in the Canadian Navy taking part in D-Day and elsewhere. As per Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will be scheduled later. Memorial donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Next time you are outside, look up and say hello as he is now playing golf in the great golf course in the sky. In the care of Hannah Funeral Home, in Napanee 613-354-3341.
