BÉLANGER, Dolorès (née Mainville)
The family announces with sorrow her death on August 28, 2021, at 95 1/2 years old. Daughter of the late Osias and late Eva (née Hotte) Mainville. She was predeceased by her dear husband Roméo (2005) and two sons, Gérald (2010) and Bernard (1976). Loving mother of Carmen (Paul Cousineau), Pauline (Sheryl Ackerman), Raymond and Ronald.
Cherished grand-maman of 7, great-grand-maman of 8 and great-great-grand-maman of 1. She was very proud of her 5 generations. Cherished sister of Isabelle Rhéaume (late Jean-Paul) and Claire Gladu (Robert). Predeceased by her sister Dorcas (Dot) Lavallée (late Emile), and brothers, Hervé (late Gertrude), Norbert (late Lucia), Edmond (Juliette), Sylvio (late Andréanne), Jacques (late Germaine) and Rolland (late Gisèle). She will be dearly missed by her many friends, nephews, and nieces. Our Mom kept in touch with many people using her iPad. Some of our parents’ happiest memories were spent at the family cottage on Whitewater Lake. She also truly loved her apartment at Place Champlain. She was a member of Les Dames de Fédérations and a founding committee member of Le Club d’Age d’Or in Azilda. Our Mom loved baking, cooking, and sharing with family and friends. She was very proud of writing her autobiography “C’est toute une vie à vivre”, a legacy for her family. She wrote it after our dad passed away after 60 1/2 years of marriage. As our immediate family is all far, many family members helped with appointments and Mom’s care throughout the years. Sue Gladu Edman, words cannot express how much we are grateful for your unwavering devotion to our mother. Tante Claire was always available as well as Gisèle Morin, Hélène Rhéaume and Claudette Deschamps. You are very special, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
She will be remembered for her love, her generosity, her joie de vivre and her dedication to family and friends. Her sense of humour was legendary. Her hearty and unabashed laughter will forever ring in our hearts. There will be no visitation or services due to COVID 19.
