Dianne Dietz 2021

Dianne’s Obituary
Delores Dianne Dietz, beloved wife of the late Gary Dietz of Buchanan, SK, passed away at the Canora Hospital, Canora, SK, on August 28, 2021, at the age of 72 years.
Dianne was born September 4, 1948, at the Canora Hospital, Canora, SK, to John and Annie (Wiwchar) Dutchak. She attended school in Buchanan and Canora. She grew up on her family’s homestead south of
Buchanan, SK, where as a family they worked hard together with her parents and siblings. Dianne’s fondest memories involve her mother milking cows and being in the summer kitchen canning.
In 1967, Dianne left the family homestead to work off the farm. She accepted a position with a construction company, working in a camp as a cook’s helper. She worked in northern Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as in Colonsay, SK, where she met the love of her life, Gary Dietz. On July 25, 1970, they were married in the United Church in Canora, SK.
Three years later they took over the family homestead, getting into dairy and cattle farming – side by side, they always worked together! Dianne started milking cows and no matter where her cows were in the pasture, she would call them by name, and they would come.
Dianne and Gary were blessed with three sons, Shawn, Darren, and Trevor. Dianne loved being a mother! As a family, they worked hard together on the farm. With her husband and sons beside her, Dianne became a successful farm wife, mother, and businesswoman. She produced cream, butter, and cottage cheese as requested from coast to coast. Additionally, she loved the daily visits from her local customers.
In 2014, with the passing of her husband, Dianne retired. She said after 40 years of Gary and her always working together, it would never be the same. She started going to church every Sunday, which brought her peace and comfort.
In her spare time, Dianne enjoyed the farm life, playing cards with the neighbours, cooking, baking, canning, and gardening her flowers. Above all, she loved spending time with her precious grandson, Jaxton. She loved him so much and loved when he came to stay at the farm with her.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dianne was predeceased by her parents, John and Annie Dutchak; parents-in-law, Carl and Ethel Dietz; her loving husband, Gary Dietz; her brothers, Ernest and Alfred Dutchak; sister, Alice Lungal and sister-in-law, Linda Dietz.
She is survived by her loving sons, Shawn, Darren (Robyn), and Trevor; her cherished grandson, Jaxton; nieces, Cheryl and Cyndie Wowchuk; sisters-in-law: Tennie Dutchak, Joan (Bill) Britton, Darlene (Ron) Thorpe, and Linda (Craig) Svanda; and her brothers-in-law, Dennis (Glenda) Dietz and Darryl (Susan) Dietz; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK, with Pastor Carlyle Johnson officiating.
