Inexplicably, and beyond our comprehension, Devon, a kind, gentle, beautiful spirit now lives within our souls forever.
Devon grew up in Saskatoon attending St. Josephs High School then furthering his education in computers at SaskPolytechnic. We remember Devon always having a book in his hand when he was young, especially when Harry Potter came out. He enjoyed his work even when it was delivering pizzas, cutting meat in the cold at Sobeys, or at his present job as a programmer analyst with the City of Saskatoon where he had many good friendships with his coworkers. He never balked at helping anyone, especially if there was a problem with their computers. He would come to the rescue no matter how simple the problem or how simple the user. He would calmly resolve the problem then take the time to explain what needed to be done so it wouldn’t happen again. He had a great work ethic which was evident in his commitment to working out and weight lifting. His friends believed he was good enough to go into competition. Devon loved board games and owned so many he and his pals never needed to play the same one twice. Devon had a smile for everyone and always had a twinkle in his eye. He had a unique, quirky sense of humour and we will never forget that quiet chuckle. He was like a brother to his many cousins, but especially Braydon, Paige and Charlotte. He was such a good son to his Mother….always there with love and support no matter what the project or where the walk would take them. He had an especially close bond with his Aunt Christine but Devon made all his Aunts, Uncles and cousins feel special. Devon had wonderful friends who he cared for deeply and with whom he had many great memories. We want to express our profound appreciation to Derek Bonter for his strong support to us and for being an amazing friend. Devon is lovingly remembered and cherished by his mother Cindy Stein, stepfather Darin Churchill and his father Kerry Auchstetter, grandparents Ron (Olive) Auchstaetter, Rita Auchstaetter, his Aunts and Uncles: Neil (Eldeen) Stein, Dale (Nora) Stein, Darrell (Darlene) Stein, Gary Stein (Kari), Penny (Kevin) Friske, Greg Stein (Tina), Christine (Lee) Spray, Hugh (Sherry) Auchstaetter, Rosanne (Kit) Talbot, Dawn Auchstaetter, his many Stein cousins: Jill, Mitch, Spencer, Alyssa, Braydon, Paige, Charlotte, Josh, Brock, Douglas, Stephen and Justin, and Auchstaetter cousins: Nolan, Amanda, Cameron, Gregory, Steven, Anthony, Kittrina, Andrea.
Deep in our hearts Devon’s memory will be kept
To have and never forget
Today, Tomorrow, our whole life through
We will always love and remember you
Remembering him will be easy
as we’ll do it everyday
But there’s an ache within our hearts
that will never go away.
Due to COVID gathering restrictions the Memorial Service will be held at a later date and details will be announced at that time.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Devon
